Prof. Hanlong Liu presented invited keynote Lecture on the 20th ICSMGE 2022

On 1-6 May, 2022, the 20th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ICSMGE 2022) was successfully held in Sydney, Australia, and Prof. Hanlong Liu was invited by International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) to conduct invited keynote lecture for the conference.

In the background of China's lunar exploration program, Prof. Liu’s lecture, titled as The first ever landing and experiments on the far side of moon, was conducted from the following aspects: the background introduction, the details of landing and bio-experiment, relevant geotechnical and geological observations, Chang 'e-5 probe, unmanned lunar sampler, as well as prospect of Lunar geotechnical engineering, etc.. Experts and scholars had in-depth exchanges and discussions on this topic after Prof. Liu’s report.

It’s reported that the ICSMGE is the largest and highest level of international academic event held every four years, and is honored as the Olympic conference in the field of international geotechnical engineering. ICSMGE 2022 was hosted by the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS) both online and offline at the Sydney International Convention Centre. The ISSMGE is  an international non-governmental and non-profit scientific organization, the most traditional and influential academic organization in the international geotechnical engineering field, and the pre-eminent professional body representing the interests and activities of Engineers, Academics and Contractors all over the world that actively participate in geotechnical engineering.
