The 15th International Conference on Wind Engineering,Co-organized by Chongqing University,Was Successfully Held in Beijing

 

Professor Yang Qingshan, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, Chongqing University, co-chaired the 15th International Conference on Wind Engineering (ICWE15), which was successfully held at the Beijing National Convention Center from September 1-6, 2019.

Distinguished guests from China and abroad attending the IWCE15 included: Professor Ahsan Kareem of the University of Notre Dame, Chair Professor of Chongqing University, president of the International Wind Engineering Association (IWEA), and Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor Zhou Xuhong, of Chongqing University and Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor Yukio Tamura of Chongqing University, former President of IWEA and Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor Ou Jinping of Harbin Institute of Technology and Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and Professor Chen Zhengqing of Hunan University and Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering. More than 600 well-known experts, researchers, students, and business representatives assembled to exchange the latest technological developments, academic research results, innovative ideas, and engineering experience in the field of wind engineering.

 

 

Professors of Chongqing University attended the ICWE15

 

More than 20 professors and students from Chongqing University participated in the conference, reporting their latest research progress. They also chaired over several conference sessions and conducted extensive exchanges with domestic and foreign counterparts. Professor Yang Qingshan presided over the closing ceremony of the conference.

During the fifty-six years after the first event took place at Teddington (UK) in 1963, the ICWE has been held successfully every four years with venues in more than 10 countries, including Australia, Canada, India, Japan, UK, USA, and Brazil.. The 16th International Wind Engineering Conference will be held in Florence, Italy in 2023.
