In order to implement the spirit of the National graduate Education Conference, to create outstanding graduate education with Chinese characteristics and Chongqing University’s style, to improve the internationalization level and international competitiveness of postgraduate education comprehensively, to further develop students’ global vision and creative thinking, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office and the Graduate School jointly organized the “Postgraduate Global Academic Courses (Online)”. Each school can apply for participation.

In 2021, School of Civil Engineering actively mobilized and applied for the project. In total 13 courses had been approved to be funded. The professional fields include sustainable environmental design, advanced wind engineering, etc, benefiting 285 students.

Till Autumn 2021, 6 online courses already available for students, and the rest will be rolled out in 2022. The teachers of this series of courses include famous professors from world-renowned universities such as Imperial College London, Illinois State University Urbana-Champaign, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore National University, etc. It is worth mentioning that 98% of the teachers are well-known scholars in the international professional field.

Advanced Wind Engineering course

Professor Yang Qingshan of Chongqing University presided over the opening ceremony.

Professor Hemida from the University of Birmingham gave a report entitled “Characteristics of Atmospheric Boundary Layer”.

It is reported that the postgraduate global academic program is well received by students. And the School of Civil Engineering will continue to inject impetus into the project, build a higher-quality academic exchange platform for students that is in line with international standards, and train more high-quality graduate students.
