On April 17-18, at the invitation of Academician Zhou Xuhong and Professor Bai Yongtao from the SCE, Chair of the European Safety and Reliability Association (ESRA), Editor in Chief of ASCE-ASME Journal of Risk and Uncertainty in Engineering Systems, Professor Michael Beer at the University of Hannover Leibniz in Germany, and Professor Sifeng Bi from the University of Strathclyde in the UK, visited our school and gave a series of academic lectures. More than 30 professors and students from the SCE attended the lectures. The lecture was leading by Professor Bai Yongtao.

Professor Michael Beer has presented a series of reports titled “Coaching Session How to Publish Successfully in Top Journals”, “Efficient Reliability Analysis with Impurity Probabilities”, and "Coaching Session Coaching Session on International Academic Career Development". The reports introduce the latest research progress in efficient reliability analysis under imprecise probabilities, providing selected solutions for efficient numerical analysis using imprecise probabilities (especially reliability analysis) to solve high-dimensional and nonlinear problems. Professor Michael Beer also conducted research coaching reports on how to successfully publish articles in top international journals and how to plan academic careers.
