From May 9th to 10th 2019, SCE delegation, constituted by Associate Chair Wengang Zhang and secretary for foreign affairs Xiaoxue Ma visited Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST) in Poland.

        On 9th May, Prof. Dariusz Lydzba, Dean of Faculty of Civil Engineering at WUST, and Prof. Jan Bien, Head of Department of Bridges and Railways at Faculty of Civil Engineering, WUST, gave a warm welcome to SCE delegation and had a meeting about academic cooperation. They introduced the university and school histories, the organizational framework, the disciplinary development and research orientations, and discussed the possibility of the further cooperation in international student program, research collaboration and the joint research programs. Prof Zhang welcomed the students from WUST for long term exchange as well as the faculty and staff for academic sabbatical stay in our school. Some preliminary agreements with regard to the cooperation were also made.

        Then, SCE delegation visited the laboratory about the experimental testing on the mechanical responses of civil engineering materials in a microscopic way, and were impressed by the advanced equipment.

        In the afternoon, Prof. Andrzej Trochim czuk, the Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at WUST met SCE delegation, he expressed sincere appreciation to SCE for holding International Summer Camp every year and inviting their students and teachers to participate, as well as his support to the bilateral cooperation on behalf of WUST.

        At last, Prof. Zhang, the Associate Chair of SCE, introduced China, CQU, SCE to WUST‘s students and staffs. And then had a little chatting with them. WUST students expressed their willingness to study and work in China; Prof. Igor Gisterek Hoped that he can cooperate with SCE teachers to publish a textbook in both English and Chinese language; Prof. Wojciech Pula discussed with Prof. Zhang about the reliability-based design in geotechnical engineering and the uncertainty analysis. He sincerely invited Prof. Zhang to be an editorial member for scientific journal.

         On 10th May, SCE delegation visited the Bridge and Railway laboratory in WUST. After that, Andrzej Moczko, the Director of Office of International Affaris at WUST, and Karolina Farbiszewska, the Head of International Events Division of Office of International Affaris at WUST expressed their thanks to SCE International Summer Camp again, and invited CQU students attending their Summer School. At the meeting, exchange students program and staff transmitting program were putting forward.
