From March 27 to 29, 2019, SCE delegation, constituted by Associate Chair Wengang Zhang, secretary for foreign affairs Xiaoxue Ma, and faculty representative for English courses open to International graduates Jiangtao Yi, visited Politecnico di Milano and University of Bergamo. They were warmly welcomed by the partner universities in Italy.
From March 27 to 28, SCE delegation visited Politecnico di Milano. On 27 March, they met with Prof. Alberto Guadagnini, the head of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Christine Romanella who is in charge of undergraduate and postgratuate programs at International Exchange Office, Francesca Fogal who is in charge of international projects service at External Relatioans and Communication Area and other staffs, in the Milano Campus. Based on the Exchange Program, the two universities would like to extend the students progams by having a dual degree program for both master students and doctor students to further the collaboration.
On 28 March, they traveled to Lecco Campus, where some laboratories and researches carried by Professors and postgraduates of Politecnico di Milano recently were introduced detailedly. The International students dormitory was also visited. Prof. Zhang, the Associate Chair of SCE, introduced the English-taught Program for International master/doctor students, International Summer Camp held by SCE every year as well as the potential dual degree program to Politecnico di Milano students.
On 29 March, SCE delegation visited the University of Bergamo. In the morning, they had a short meeting with the Rector Prof. Remo Morzenti, the Vice-Chancellor (Relations with institutional and local bodies) Prof. fulvio Adobati and other representatives of the University of Bergamo. In the afternoon, department head Prof. Egidio Rizzi, also the International coordinator at the School of Engineering Prof. Maria Sole Brioschi and other staffs discussed the feasibility of dual degree programs and courses taught by each side with SCE delegation. After the visiting of laboratories, SCE delegation ended their visits to Italy.
