Professor Wang Dahai from Wuhan University of Technology Was Invited to Come to Our School for Academic Report

At the invitation of Prof. Huang Guoqing, Professor Wang Dahai of Wuhan University of Technology visited our School of Civil Engineering, and on November 15, 2019, from 10:00 to 11:30 am, in Room 306 of the Construction Hall, the key to the wind load of large-span transmission lines was Academic report on the issue.

Professor Wang Dahai explained the engineering background, experimental principle, application practice and final conclusions and prospects of the wind load of the transmission line. It is concluded that the dynamic characteristics of the wire change significantly with the average wind angle under the action of the average wind. The conclusions made the teachers and classmates here fully understand the key issues of wind load on long-span transmission lines and the latest ideas and ideas related to the problem.

After the report, several teachers and students had an in-depth discussion with Professor Wang Dahai on the content of the report. Among them, Professor Huang Guoqing questioned the force of the transmission line under the situation of the downburst; the students who did the relevant research and study put forward the problem of the force measurement of the transmission line simulation experiment. Professor Wang gave detailed and clear answers to these questions. This report was successfully concluded with warm applause.

Prof. Wang Dahai: In 1997, he graduated from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology. He graduated from Wuhan University in 2006. He graduated from Tongji University in 2010. In 2009, he became a joint doctor of Rice University in the United States. In 2015, he was a visiting scholar at Texas Tech university.
