The academic annual conference of International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS 2022) and 13th Asia Pacific Computer Systems Conference (APCS 2022) was held in Beijing on September 19-22, 2022. SCE honorary chair Academician Yang Yeong-Bin was granted as Honorary Member of the IASS for his outstanding achievements in the filed of structural nonlinear analysis, structural dynamics and wave propagation, and his prominent contribution to engineering education and IASS development.
Honorary Members are Individual or Senior members with a distinguished record of outstanding achievement in the field of shell and/or spatial structures, and/or have rendered exceptional service to the Association. Honorary members are selected by vote of the Executive Council. On the average, one new Honorary Member is named each year. IASS is now the most authoritative academic organization of international space structure field. Since its foundation in 1959, IASS has held a large-scale academic exchange conference every year which attracts famous experts and scholars from all over the world each time. At the IASS 2022, Academician Yang Yeong-Bin delivered an invited speech entitled as Invariant Isogeometric Formulation for Buckling Analysis of Spatial Curved Kirchhoff Rods.
