Prof. Chen Zengshun won the 13th Chongqing Youth Science and Technology Innovation Mayor Award

Recently, the "Decision on Commending the 13th Chongqing Youth Science and Technology Innovation Mayor Award" was issued by Chongqing Municipal Government. Professor Chen Zengshun from School of Civil Engineering of Chongqing University won the Mayor Award (Professional Youth Group), one of the teachers and students of CQU who won this award for the first time.

Chen Zengshun, male, Han nationality, born in April 1988, a member of the Communist Party of China, now is a professor at School of Civil Engineering, Chongqing University. He joined Chongqing University in 2018 and has published more than 100 papers (64 SCI papers, 2 ESI highly cited papers), more than 40 authorized invention patents, and won dozens of honors such as the 9th China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award. Chen Zengshun took the lead in proposing a new type of aero-elastic-pressure-measuring wind tunnel experimental technology, which filled the gap in the field. He also developed military nozzle products suitable for icing environments, breaking the foreign monopoly. Chen Zengshun's research results have been applied to major projects such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the structure of the world's largest LNG storage tank, which have produced significant economic benefits.

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of speeches on scientific and technological innovation, and encourage the city's professional youth, college students, and primary and secondary school students to actively participate in scientific and technological innovation activities, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government has finally decided to award 30 people with the 13th Chongqing Youth Science and Technology Innovation Mayor Award after selection, evaluation and inspection throughout the city. There are 10 people in each of the professional youth group, the college student group, and the primary and middle school student group. In addition, a total of 28 people from the city were nominated for the award. 9 teachers and students of CQU were awarded. Among them, 5 won the 13th Chongqing Youth Science and Technology Innovation Mayor Award, the other 4 won the Nomination Award.
