Yang Qingshan, Chair of the School of Civil Engineering (SCE) of Chongqing University (CQU), Hu Shaowei, Professor of the SCE (Director of the Engineering Technology Center of the Ministry of Water Resources), Ma Ji, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of SCE, Zhang Wengang, Associate Chair of SCE, and some other SCE staff went to the Water Affairs Bureau in Chongqing to carry out the national development cooperation research of “Construction of new infrastructure, new urbanization, and major projects” on March 22.
Chaired by Song Gangyong from the Department of Hydrology and Defense, Luo Zhihong, member of the governing body and second-level inspector of the Municipal Water Affairs Bureau, heads of the Planning Department, the Science and Technology Department, the Construction Department, the Transportation Management Department, the Hydrology and Defense Department, the Municipal Water Conservancy Information Center, and the Municipal Hydrological Station participated in the meeting forum.
Yang Qingshan and Zhang Wengang introduced SCE’s history, discipline direction, talents team, experimental platform, scientific and technological achievements, emphasizing the good development momentum of the current disciplines, which will be further promoted to improve the interdisciplinary integration and expand the construction of water conservancy and transportation disciplines. He also expressed the hope to establish a regular exchange and mutual visit mechanism, sort out cooperation intentions, enhance contact and cooperation in an all-round way, and jointly promote innovation and development.
Luo Zhihong had show warmly welcomed to Yang Qingshan and his delegation. He highly praised the long history and strong strength of the civil engineering discipline of CQU, and the broad space for cooperation between the two parties, hoping that two parties can further strengthen the exchanges, and establish a long-term cooperation mechanism to conduct in-depth docking in water conservancy technology innovation, cultivation of water conservancy talents, and party building cooperation and other aspects.
Focusing on relevant research fields and work, and in combination with the strategic needs of “14th Five-Year Plan” water security plan of Chongqing Municipality , the participants from both sides conducted opinions exchange and discussion on various contents, such as deepening collaborative education, water conservancy digital twin technology, super-standard flood defense and emergency support technology, project declaration, scientific research platform construction, ect.
