The SCE Sub-forum of 2022 Forum for Outstanding Young Scholars at Home and Abroad (Spring) kicked off on 24th June. The event was live broadcasted worldwide. 10 outstanding young scholars from world-renowned universities, such as University of British Columbia, University of South Carolina, Tohoku University, Curtin University, University of Calgary, attended the event by virtual means. They shared and exchanged the latest scientific research achievements with SCE faculty in different research areas.
On behalf of SCE, Yang Qingshan, the chair of SCE, Yang Yang, the director of Institute of Engineering Construction, Chen Zengshun, the director of Department of Road and Bridge Engineering, Xu Fei, the deputy director of Institute of Structural Engineering, Qin Changbing, the deputy director of Institute of Urban Underground Space, attended SCE Sub-forum. Chen Zengshun, presided at the event.
Yang Qingshan extended warm welcome and thanks to all the scholars, after a brief introduction of Chongqing municipality and Chongqing University, he went on to elaborate School of Civil Engineering from its development history, discipline, laboratory, international cooperation and exchange, talent demand. Whereafter, all the scholars conducted a self-introduction on their academic experience, research interests and scientific payoffs.
Then SCE representatives illustrated related discipline and institutions/departments, and had a extensive discussion with the scholars.
The Forum is an important part of CQU's efforts to implement the spirit of the Talent Work Conference of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and serves as a platform of high-level academic exchange for scholars at home and abroad caring for the development of Chongqing University, and provides an important opportunity for young talents to understand and have a close look at Chongqing University.
