On January 8, Key Laboratory of New Technology for Construction of Cities in Mountain Area held 2021 Annual Work Conference of Academic Committee in the No.1 lecture hall (Room 222 at SCE). This conference was held both online and offline. Academician Zhou Xuhong, chairman of the laboratory Academic Committee, academician Ren Huiqi and academician Liu Jiaping, vice-chairman of the laboratory Academic Committee, academician Zheng Jianlong, academician Wang Fuming, academician Yue Qingrui, academician Xie Xianqi, academician Wu Zhiqiang, academician Zhuang Weimin, professor Du Chunlan and professor Zhou Tiejun, members of the laboratory Academic Committee attended the conference. Academician Nie Jianguo, chairman of Advisory Committee, academician Wu Shuoxian, academician Wang Jianguo, academician Lv Xilin and professor Zeng Jian, members of Advisory Committee also attended. Some directors and leaders from relevant departments of CQU, such as Institute of Scientific Research and Development, Faculty of Built Environment, School of Architecture and Urban Planning and School of Civil Engineering were present. The conference was presided over by academician Zhou Xuhong.
After listening and discussing the report on the work of Key Laboratory of New Technology for Construction of Cities in Mountain Area in 2021, the open researches of the key laboratory were approved by the Academic Committee. The Committee held the view that the laboratory maintained strong momentum in basic researches, cultivation of talents, disciplinary construction and internationalization. Its research capacity and academic influence continued to improve.
The committee members suggested that focusing on national major strategic needs, including peaking carbon dioxide emissions, achieving carbon neutrality, maintaining green and sustainable development and constructing the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the laboratory should attach importance to the heritage of regional culture, further optimizing the research direction and highlighting the features of mountain area. In addition, it should continue to cultivate talents, in a move to enhance basic research capacity and academic influence. Efforts must be made in preparing the establishment of the Key Laboratory of Safety and Intelligence for Construction of Cities in Mountain Area.
