Yuanlong Yang, associate professor, doctoral supervisor.


Education
He received his Bachelor's, Master's and Doctor's degrees in structural engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology. He worked as a visiting scholar at the University of California, Irvine from January to December, 2019.

Career Details
In the past 5 years, he has supervised more than 20 doctoral and master students, and won the award of Excellent Postgraduate Supervisor of Structural Engineering of Chongqing University. Cheng Wei, TANG Xin, LIU Xianggang and HAN Jinjun won the Award of Excellent Graduates of Structural Engineering of Chongqing University.

Research interests
The research directions include static and seismic performance of concrete-filled steel tube columns; study on seismic performance of concrete filled steel tubular column frame joints; study on the flexural, shear and torsional properties of new steel-concrete composite beams; study on seismic performance of concrete-filled steel tubular special-shaped column members, joints and frame system; study on seismic behavior of steel-concrete composite shear wall.

Research Projects
In recent years, he presided over 10 national and provincial scientific research projects, including two national natural science foundation projects, one national natural science foundation of youth project, two research and development of the national key secondary corpus plan projects, one housing and urban-rural development of science and technology plan project, one natural science fund projects in Chongqing, one construction science research projects in Gansu province, one major demand cultivation project for central universities, two basic scientific research task funds for central universities, and one open fund project for the Key Laboratory of Structural Disaster and Control of Ministry of Education of Harbin Institute of Technology, with a total scientific research funding of more than 3 million yuan.

Latest Publications
He published a book of Theory and Design of Special-shaped Concrete-filled Steel Tubular Column Structure. He is presiding over Technical Standard for Prefabricated Multi-cavity Concrete-filled Steel tube Special-shaped Column Structure of China Engineering Construction Standardization Association and Technical standard for Concrete-filled Steel Tube Special-Shaped Column Structure of Chongqing Engineering Construction Standard. He is also presiding over Technical standard for Prefabricated open-hole steel plate composite shear wall of China Architectural Society. Participated in the compilation of the 13th Five-Year Plan textbook Civil Engineering Drawing for civil Engineering majors of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The research results have been applied in more than 10 projects such as Jialing Sailing Super high-rise in Chongqing, and have achieved significant economic and social benefits.
In the past 5 years, he has published more than 40 papers in academic journals, including more than 31 SCI papers. At the same time, the first or second applicant applied for and authorized nine invention patents.

He is a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction. He won the first prize of Chongqing Science and Technology Progress in 2018 and the Special prize of Science and technology of China Steel Structure Association.
