Eight papers selected as ESI highly cited and Two selected as ESI hot paper from School of Civil Engineering

2021-05-25 15:24

According to the most up-to-date data from Clarivate Analytics Essential Science Indicators (ESI), eight papers published by Prof. Zhang Wengang (as the first author or corresponding author) were selected as ESI highly cited paper. Meanwhile, two papers were also selected as hot ESI papers.

ESI, as a basic analysis and evaluation tool, is used by the international academic community to measure scientific research performance and track scientific development trends. Highly cited papers refer to the top 1% of all papers published in the same ESI subject area of the same year, which ranked in descending order of the number of citations. Hot papers refer to the top 0.1% of the papers published in the ESI discipline in the last two years and ranked by the number of citations in the last two months. These two indicators reflect the influence of the paper from the perspective of literature citation. Currently, multiple papers published by Prof. Zhang Wengang were selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers and ESI Hot Papers, it not only reflects the academic recognition of scientific research results, but also expresses the affirmation of scientific research level of our school.

For details on ESI highly cited papers and ESI hot papers, please refer to the link below. These papers are mainly researched in cooperation with domestic and foreign scholars. The collaborator and research institute are:

Prof. Suzanne Lacasse, the technical director of the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI). She is also the academician of the United States, Canada, France and the Norwegian Academy of Engineering, Academician of the Canadian and Norwegian Academy of Sciences, member of the Royal Norwegian Academy, the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Engineering;

Prof. Liu Zhongqiang, the senior advisor of NGI;

Associate Professor Anthony Goh Teck Chee, Nanyang Technological University, he is the Prof. Zhang Wengang's co-supervisor for Ph.D. and post-doctoral research;

Prof. Böhlke, Thomas, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, professor appointed by the National Foreign Expert Program of our school.

Prof. Samui Pijush, Indian Institute of Science, professor appointed by the National Foreign Expert Program of our school.

Through in-depth international academic exchanges, it has further facilitated new breakthroughs in the thinking of domestic and foreign scientific researchers, and played a vital role in jointly promoting the development of geotechnical engineering.
