The Institute of Geomatics Engineering in the School of Civil Engineering, Chongqing University has a staff of 12 people, which includes 6 associate professors and 6 lecturers. The institute is focused on combining the requirements of Civil Engineering to explore the research and application in modern geomatics technology of GNSS, UAV, Surveying robot, Laser scanning, Close-range photogrammetry, Hyper-spectral/high resolution remote sensing image data processing, etc., carrying out the forefront research in surveying and construction of roads and bridges, deformation monitoring of super structures, the geological hazards monitoring and evaluation. The Institute of Geomatics Engineering transfer the research outcome into productivity and devote to cultivate high-quality undergraduates and post graduates with the thorough grounding in geomatics disciplines, modern measurement skills and independent scientific research abilities. For now, the Institute has undertaken more than 50 national, provincial, and horizontal research projects, published more than 10 SCI papers in international journals, edited three textbooks, won three provincial and ministerial awards, co-edited and reviewed more than 10 industry, and local standards.
