Journey Through the Three Gorges: International Summer Camp's Exploration of Geohazards and Cultural Heritage

2024-08-04 19:32

On July 8th, 2024, during the seventh day of the International Summer Camp, participants ventured on a one-day excursion to the TGR Slopes and Geohazard Site.

Wu Gorge is famous for its depth and beautiful scenery. The river winds through the canyon, with clear waves rippling, complementing the green mountains on both sides. Qutang Gorge, on the other hand, is known for its steep and spectacular views. It's the shortest but most majestic part of the Three Gorges, with cliffs rising sharply on both sides, a narrow river, and rapid water flow, as if it's a natural barrier set by nature itself.

During their tour of the Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge, participants gained insights into the Three Gorges' historical and cultural significance and learned about the geohazard mitigation efforts in the reservoir area.
