On July 7th, 2024, the sixth day of the summer camp, students conducted a field visit to the Liangjiang New Area-Changshou District Fast Track. The project is more than an extension of the traffic arteries, it is a bridge for urban growth and public well-being, with the Huangjiaotuo Yangtze River Bridge as a pivotal control engineering node. The bridge ingeniously integrates the multifaceted functions of "urban expressways, core main roads, and rail transit" into a harmonious design. It innovatively employs a double-deck layout strategy, which not only enhances the city's transportation network but also exemplifies the ingenuity in infrastructure planning that caters to the diverse needs of the city's growth and its residents.
On-site Visit to the Huangjiaotuo Bridge
In addition to the Huangjiaotuo Bridge, the participants also visited the Huangjiaotuo Project's Smart Hall.
The Smart Hall of the Huangjiaotuo Bridge project is a prime example of the perfect fusion of technology and engineering. Anchored by the application of BIM technology, the initiative facilitates advanced management practices such as collaborative oversight, material tracking, pit monitoring, and bridge surveillance. It embodies the "eight possibles": visual site monitoring, accessible data, trackable progress, controllable quality, preventable safety risks, correctable violations, reportable warnings, and measurable processes. This has revitalized the construction sector with a level of energy and efficiency never seen before, offering students a majestic perspective of transforming challenging terrains into accessible paths.
