Times Higher Education (THE) released the most recent results of its 2023 China Subject Ratings on March 27, 2024. 83 disciplines from 1885 research universities were included in this rating. 37 disciplines from Chongqing University were included in the ranking; civil engineering was ranked as an A+. THE's China Subject Ratings employ a worldwide framework for evaluating university performance in Chinese universities, drawing on the subject classification of the Chinese Ministry of Education. The rating evaluates teaching, research, international perspective, and knowledge transfer—all essential tasks of research-intensive universities.
