On October 4, 2023, Stanford University released the latest ranking of the World's Top 2% Scientists 2022, with multiple scholars from the School of Civil Engineering at Chongqing University on the list. A total of 11 professors, including Xuhong Zhou, Yongbin Yang, Yukio Tamura, Guoqing Huang, Hanlong Liu, Baizhan Li, Shaoxiang Luo, Yang Xiao, Qingshan Yang, Runming Yao, and Wengang Zhang, have been selected as the top 2% lifetime influential scientists globally(Careers). A total of 19 scholars, including Xuhong Zhou, Yongbin Yang, Yukio Tamura, Guoqing Huang, Shaobo Kang, Hanlong Liu, Baizhan Li, Shaoxiang Luo, Jiepeng Liu, Xinrong Liu, Junbo Sun, Yuhang Wang, Yang Xiao, Qingshan Yang, Runming Yao, Bo Yang, Haiqing Yang, Wengang Zhang, and Zhigang Zhang, were selected as the top 2% globally influential scientists of the year (Singleyr).
The list of top scientists are rated based on six key factors, including total citation, Hirsch H-index, and co-author modified Schreiber Hm-index. It covers 22 fields and 176 sub-fields, and are selected on the top 2% of global scientists out of nearly 7 million scientists. Among them, the Lifetime Influential Top Scientist (Career) calculates the comprehensive performance during their career, while the Annual Influential Top Scientist (Singleyr) focuses more on the academic influence of the previous year.
Being selected as one of the top 2% scientists in the world signifies that our scholars have a high international academic influence in the field of civil engineering and have made important contributions to the development of this field.
