The conference has been co-hosted three times abroad. It has grown to be both a forum for academic interaction with a global reach and a highly anticipated high-level series of international academic conferences in business. The next SuDBE conference will be held in conjunction with the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa at the end of July 2024 in Johannesburg, South Africa, as Professor Yao Runming, the chair of the Organizing Committee of the conference, announced at the closing ceremony. This will promote cooperation and exchanges with the "Belt and Road" countries in building and environmentally sustainable development.
