On November 6, 2025, at the invitation of professor Li Xiao and professor Li Yutong from the School of Civil Engineering at Chongqing University, a delegation from the School of Civil Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) visited the college. The university is an important member of the “the Belt and Road” University Science and Technology Cooperation Alliance (iUNRC). The delegation members include associate professor Mustafasanie M Yussof, vice president of the college, associate professor Mohd Rosli Mohd Hasan, and graduate program director Nuridah Sabtu.

The exchange meeting was chaired by professor Li Xiao, and professor Wang Yuhang, vice dean of the school of civil engineering, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. Dr. Pouria Ayough and foreign affairs secretary Chen Ruidi from the school of civil engineering also attended the meeting. The two sides discussed issues such as scientific research cooperation, talent training, signing of the memorandum of cooperation and declaration of the “the Belt and Road” laboratory.

After the meeting, the USM delegation visited the college history museum, vibration table laboratory, structural laboratory, and wind wave flow multifunctional laboratory, and highly recognized the academic achievements and research conditions of the college. The USM delegation stated that this exchange and visit have comprehensively deepened their understanding of the scientific research strength, international cooperation layout, and talent cultivation system of the college, and they are full of expectations for future scientific research cooperation and graduate student training cooperation.

This activity further consolidated the cooperation foundation of the two universities in the fields of scientific research, teaching and international talent training, and injected new impetus into deeper international cooperation between the two sides under the framework of the “the Belt and Road”.
