Institute of Built Environment

         The institute primarily conducts research in green buildings, smart energy, low-carbon smart city development, theories and technologies of high-efficiency HVAC equipment and systems, indoor environment and health, and building fire safety. It has outstanding professionals such as a Huang Danian-style faculty team, National Teaching Masters, and Fellows of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). Faculty members of the institute have led projects that have won numerous national and provincial/ministerial-level awards, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the National Teaching Achievement Award, the First Prize of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award, and the First Prize of the Chongqing Science and Technology Progress Award. The institute also hosts national and provincial/ministerial-level international academic platforms such as the National International Joint Research Center for Low-Carbon Green Buildings of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the International Joint Laboratory for Green Buildings and Human Settlements of the Ministry of Education, and has jointly established high-level research and practice bases with enterprises, including the Chongqing University–Siemens Building Technologies Laboratory.
